Our tour tips for your holiday:
- A leisurely valley tour through the Bairau and Scheffsnoth
This leisurely snowshoe hike without many meters in altitude runs from the large parking lot in Lofer over the Teufelssteg to Bairau. We return via Scheffsnoth and the Hubertussteg to Lofer. - About Au and the Auer meadows
Snowshoe hike from Lofer via Teufelssteg, Bairau and Wahpointweg to Au. From here we continue across the Auer meadows towards the Hubertus Chapel, where we have a wonderful view of the Loferer Steinberge. We return via the Knappenstadl hiking trail, Scheffsnoth and the Hubertussteg to Lofer. - Scheffsnother Alm at 1337 m altitude.
There is no road leading to the alpine pasture, so you won’t find a working hut, but an intact and quiet alpine farm in summer. You can reach the Alm from Lofer via the Knappenstadl and Kematstein or via the Strohwollner Gorge in St.Martin. - Kammerling Alm
You can reach it from Weißbach, above the Hirschbichl. The alpine pasture is at an altitude of 1290 m. It is located on Austrian territory, but is also cultivated by Bavarian farmers in the summer and is located on the steep slope of the 2,448 m high Kammerlinghorn. There are a total of 11 alpine huts (called Kaser by us) relatively close together. In summer you can buy milk, buttermilk and small snacks.
