At 1275 m above sea level, the Gnadenalm plateau is surrounded by the stunning peaks of the Radstädter Tauern group. Expansive fields, picturesque forestry and unspoilt scenery provide the perfect backdrop for a very special family hiking experience. The circuitous routes are suitable for push-chairs and there are plenty of stops along the way for young trekkers to play in the sun. Kids can try to balance on the super-sized rake and sickle, visit the groundhog family in their den, test their dexterity on the Kuhfleckensprungmeile wobbly platforms, see the giant cow at the Almwasser playground – and much more. The theme stations provide interesting details and fascinating facts about life up on the mountain. The mighty Johannes waterfall is also definitely worth a visit, and can even be inspected from behind. The Gnadenalm is only 15 minutes’ drive from Radstadt.
